Welcome to the 6th Annual Maritime Security East

ATTENDEE REGISTRATION NOW OPEN WITH NEW LOW RATES AND COMPLIMENTARY REGISTRATION FOR ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY AND LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS

The 6th Annual Maritime Security 2018 East is the sixth installment in the Maritime Security East program series.  As the twenty-fourth maritime security conference hosted by Homeland Security Outlook since 2011, Maritime Security 2018 East furthers a commitment to address the needs of governments, law enforcement, and critical infrastructure to counter the challenges of securing coastlines, inland waterways, ports and their critical infrastructure.

BACK TO HAMPTON ROADS

Norfolk was the site of Maritime Security 2016 East program which was one the most successful Maritime Security Programs we’ve ever hosted.  That program brought over 300 participants together with an incredible mix of ports, law enforcement, federal agencies, foreign governments and Navy all under one roof.  That’s why we are back for 2018.

INFORMATION SHARING AND EDUCATION

The program will be conducted in three concurrent series of workshops, panels, and speaker sessions.  This format will provide all participants the opportunity to learn and collaborate in an educational and interactive setting. In addition to the workshops, general sessions will occur throughout the program that will consist of keynote presenters addressing critical issues pertaining to all maritime security stakeholders.  CLICK HERE TO SEE FULL AGENDA

Key Segments to be addressed:

  • Ports, Facilities and Critical Infrastructure Security
  • Cyber Security
  • Commerce and Transportation Security
  • Information Sharing and Multi-Agency Collaboration
  • Advance Technologies Deployment
  • Marine Law Enforcement Readiness and Response
  • Coastal and Maritime Border Security
  • Government Policies and Regulations

SOLUTIONS

Maritime Security 2018 East will showcase products, technologies and services that will support and enhance maritime security. The exhibition will consist of 40 companies that have highly relevant solutions and past performances in securing the maritime domain.  In addition to the exhibit hall, technologies and tactical vessels will be demonstrated in the marine environment at the Town Point Park Marina nearby.

SURFACE NAVY ASSOCIATION LUNCHEON

The Surface Navy Association (SNA) will once again host their luncheon at the Maritime Security East.  It will take place on April 4th and will be a joint luncheon with all participants of the program.  This luncheon will consist of a Navy Keynote Speaker and will bring together the entire maritime security community.  There will be no additional registration for Maritime Security East participants.  Registration for SNA members will be available shortly and the cost will be at the per diem lunch rate as per GSA guidelines.

Tour the Navy's M80 Stilleto

StillettoM80 Stiletto is a prototype stealth vessel designed to test carbon fiber construction and innovative design for littoral combat. With a fully loaded draft of 2.5 feet and a speed of 50 knots, this vessel is capable of inserting US Navy SEALS and special operations forces swiftly and silently. Stiletto can support interagency maritime interdiction operations by deploying U.S. Coast Guard unmanned aerial vehicles and boarding parties in open ocean.

Currently, the Stiletto is used as a maritime demonstration craft operated by the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock, Combatant Craft Division, and based at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Ft Story, Va.

Tour of the M80 Stilleto is open to all participants of the Maritime Security East Program.  Pre-registered participants only.  No walk ins will be allowed.

Meet the U.S. Coast Guard Maritime Security Response Team (MSRT)MSRT

The Maritime Security Response Team (MSRT) is the only unit within the U.S. Coast Guard that has counterterrorism capabilities to conduct action against hostile targets. The MSRT is trained to be the first responder to potential terrorist threats, deny preemptive terrorist actions, execute security actions against armed hostiles and/or non-compliant threats, execute tactical facility entry, participate in port level counterterrorism exercises, and educate other forces on Coast Guard counterterrorism procedures. Although the MSRT's focus is primarily on the safety and security of homeland defense, it is capable of rapidly deploying worldwide in response to incidents.

Join us on April 2nd during the on-water and pier-side demos to meet the team and see their equipment, vessel and learn more about their capabilities and mission.
