UAS Program Manager
Todd Chase is an oil and gas industry expert on unmanned aerial systems (UAS) that has helped define industry best practices for the technology’s safety, efficiency and regulatory compliance. He is responsible for developing and integrating UAS capabilities throughout Oceaneering’s global network of asset inspection and data management services. Todd came to Oceaneering from BP where he served as aviation safety advisor. While there, he helped found one of the industry’s UAS working groups, worked with other major oil and gas companies to evaluate, assess and issue recommended UAS procedures, and enabled BP to evaluate and manage risk through the successful launch of the world’s first commercial over-land UAS operations. Prior to BP, ToddChase was a Coast Guard and Air Force pilot, with tours flying the HH-65 Dolphin, the T-34C Mentor, the RC-26B and the MQ-1 Predator. Todd’s final duty station was the 147 Reconnaissance Wing, at Ellington Field Joint Reserve Base, Houston where he served as Flight Commander and Chief of Safety, as well as the organization’s primary advisor on UAS safety.
ToddChase has a Bachelor of Science from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and also completed graduate-level study programs at the USAF Air Command and Staff College USAF Air War College and the University of Southern California’s School of Aviation Safety and Security. program.
